How to register your own Meta Ads MCP OAuth app

If you don't already have one, go to Meta for Developers and create a developer account.

1. Go to the Meta Developer Dashboard.
2. Click Create App, enter your App name, then click Next.
3. Select Other, then click Next.
4. Select Business, then click Next.
5. Select the Business portfolio to associate with the app, then click Create app.

1. In the left sidebar, click Use cases, then Add use case.
2. In the popup, click Ads and monetization, select Create & manage ads with ads MCP server, then click Save. This automatically adds Facebook Login for Business to your app, which handles the OAuth flow.

If you manage ads data on behalf of other businesses, you need Advanced Access on the ads_mcp_management permission and must submit your app for review:

1. On the Use cases screen, click Customize on the ads MCP server use case.
2. On the Permissions and features tab, click Actions next to ads_mcp_management, choose to request Advanced Access, then click Go to app review.

1. From Facebook Login for Business > Settings, enable:
   • Client OAuth Login ✅
   • Web OAuth Login ✅
2. In Valid OAuth Redirect URIs, add: https://api.tenklo.dev/oauth/callback
3. Click Save Changes.
   Meta also lets you authenticate by passing a pre-obtained access token instead of OAuth. Tenklo's Ads MCP integration uses OAuth for automatic token handling and refresh, so choose OAuth here.

In App Review > Permissions and Features, request:

• ads_mcp_management - required to use the Ads MCP server
• ads_read - read ads data
• ads_management - manage ads and campaigns
• catalog_management - manage product catalogs
• business_management - access Business Manager data
• pages_show_list - list Pages the user manages
• instagram_basic - read basic Instagram account data
  Some permissions may require App Review before going live.

Go to App Settings > Basic in the left sidebar, then copy your App ID (this is your Client ID) and App Secret (this is your Client Secret). You'll need these when configuring the integration in Tenklo.
