CDW

Integrate your application with the CDW API

CDW's API access is self-serve through their developer portal: anyone can sign up, subscribe to a product, and generate a subscription key — see the setup guide below.

🚀 Quickstart

Connect to CDW with Tenklo and see data flow in 2 minutes.

Create the integration

In Tenklo (free signup), go to Integrations -> Configure New Integration -> CDW.

Authorize CDW

Go to Connections -> Add Test Connection -> Authorize, then enter your subscription key (leave Environment on production unless you subscribed via CDW's PreProd sandbox). Later, you'll let your users do the same directly from your app.

Call the CDW API

Let's make your first request to the CDW API. This example creates a customer order (POST /v1/customers/orders) — swap in the endpoint for the product(s) you subscribed to if different. Replace the placeholders below with your Environment API key, integration ID, and connection ID:

This creates a real order if customerId matches a customer registered in your CDW account and CDW's schema validation accepts the rest of the payload — the placeholders below are rejected before that happens, but don't swap in real values here. For a safe test, connect to CDW's PreProd sandbox (pick Environment on the Connect form) or use a customerId your account team set up specifically for testing.

curl "https://api.tenklo.dev/proxy/v1/customers/orders" \
  -X POST \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer <NANGO-API-KEY>" \
  -H "Provider-Config-Key: <INTEGRATION-ID>" \
  -H "Connection-Id: <CONNECTION-ID>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "orderHeader": { "customerId": "...", "orderId": "...", "orderDate": "2026-01-01", "orderAmount": "1.00", "currency": "USD" }, "orderLines": [] }'

Or fetch credentials with the Node SDK or API.

✅ You're connected! Check the Logs tab in Tenklo to inspect requests.

API gotchas

  • CDW's gateway (Azure API Management) automatically rotates subscription keys every 30 days. If requests start failing with an authentication error, generate a new subscription key from the developer portal and update your Tenklo connection.
  • Available products/endpoints depend on what you subscribed to in the developer portal (for example, the Customers product exposes the Customer Order API at /v1/customers/orders). CDW also runs a separate PreProd sandbox (apiconnect.preprod.cdw.com) with its own products and subscription keys — pick Environment on the Connect form (or set baseUrl in the connection config) to switch between production and PreProd.
  • Creating a real order additionally requires a customerId that CDW's account team has registered for you — an unrecognized customerId is rejected with "statusCode": "REJECTED" before anything is processed.
